Senator John McCain and former presidential candidate Fred Thompson were on Meet the Press yesterday morning discussing the Republican debates. McCain, who is supporting Mitt Romney, said flat out that the debates should be stopped.
I agree with him, the debates are making all of the candidates look like utter fools and the numbers presented by Meet the Press seem to indicate that many Americans are losing respect for the party. Are they becoming disgusted or embarrassed enough to to vote for Obama?
It's something the Republican party needs to seriously consider because the numbers aren't looking good at all, the candidates are making fools of themselves.
If they hoped to generate support through a lot of sparing with their opponents and telling the Tea Party types the rhetoric they long to hear and cheer about they're failing miserably.
McCain is right. Enough with the debates. The Republican party is only sabotaging its own efforts.
These debates just make you want to yell, "Hide your shame!"
