I Hate Ckricket!
I finally seem to be on the crazy AOL/Google page! For my regular email address and alternative email I used the same password I've always had and have no problem now. Now that I have switched to Keliata2 for my new blog I use a new password (actually it's a password that would be much harder for anyone to guess at).

Got it. Same password for emails, new password for new blog. Fine. Makes no sense but it gets me where I need to go.

Now another pet peeve---Cricket.

I definitely need to look into Time Warner cable internet access. I made a payment to Cricket on August 11. The bill wasn't due until the 15th. On the 15th they stop my service. So I call, and a tech person tells me to plug the modem into another USB port. Tried that, still no service. Then open Explorer. I do that, and keep getting sent to the My Cricket account page. I tell the Tech person Cricket hasn't credited my account because the amount in my account is $50. They haven't processed the payment. Nope. The guy insists the problem is with the modem, but acknowledges that they received my payment on the 11th. Receiving isn't the same as processing it. He keeps insisting the problem is with the modem. After switching the USB modem to three separte ports I still get routed to the My Account page every time I open Explorer.

Finally, he tells me he's going to go ahead and process my account but it won't take effect until after midnight Pacific time. Viola, once the money is taken out of my account the service is restored. That's exactly what I said all along. Why can't they just admit they're very slow in processing payments and quick to discontinue service when it's their fault for not processing the payment?

The killer part is I made my payment early just to avoid this. I like Cricket in one regard--I can take the computer anywhere and still have Internet access, but this quick to discontinue service when they're slow processing payment is getting on my last nerve. In this case, they discontinued my service on a Sunday night. Monday is my deadline date so I threaten to take (non-specific action). This is the second time Cricket has failed to process my payment.
