Machah
Before I launch into this post, let me explain a couple of things. First, the hacker has attacked once again, I continue to get Windows messages about someone have the same IP as I do, and has also changed the passwords on various online functions such as emails.

I had to change my blog entirely to Keli Ata 2, for the time being my regular email address is intact, though I had to establish a second AOL email just to log into blogger...too complicated. I don't understand it myself but everything has been virtually wiped off my hard drive.

*******

Now to begin this post. Though it is months away I am already planning my Chanukah party. Crazy, I know. I subscribed to One True Media and was working on compiling a long DVD of Chanukah songs and images, and came across an instrumental by Kenny G called Eternal Light: a Chanukah Song. The melody is haunting and yet I find myself listening to it over and over again. Coincidentally I was also trying out my new camera and taking pictures of the new pewter menorah; pictures I intended to use along with the video. Little did I know that half of the menorah was in blackness and the other four candle holders were in a blurred state of shadows of sorts. No matter, I decided to use the picture with the song. Most Chanukah songs lately seem like cheerful versions of Christmas carols. So what was I thinking of posting a video this dark? Why did I feel the need to change the name of the video from Eternal Light to Machah? Because the world has tried to completely wipe out the Jewish people and ultimately Hashem. What a horrendous notion but that seems the case. People actually want to blot out Hashem's name. But His light is indeed eternal even if the evil people of the world try to eclipse it.

The Hamas Charter states their mission clearly--to wipe Israel off the face of the earth. Of course not just the modern state or the land but of Jews and Judaism...and G-d. But again, Hashem is eternal and so are the Jewish people.

I suppose Machah (sp/usage) is an inappropriate name for a Chanukah DVD but that is something I wanted to convey to people. But why is Israel willing to even consider handing over land, and ultimately Jewish lives and Judaism to evil? An evil that seeks to blot out Hashem's name, His people?

I did consider using the title Eternal Light or Ner Tamid for the video, but the melody and menorah picture led  me to machah

Well, here is the video, which includes footage of my electric fireplace. Hopefully, the video will post here. Hmmm, it seems I can load every video except that.
